Adult Services has implemented a system of services that include measurable improvements in coordination, interagency communication, and enhanced capacity of existing services to better address the needs of offenders while incarcerated and reentering the community. This comprehensive level of services is designed to improve their employability, family life, health, lawfulness, and help them to become productive and contributing citizens..

OAR-Jefferson Area Community Corrections is dedicated to providing safe, evidence-based and cost-effective alternatives to incarceration for Central Virginia. They provide pretrial investigation/supervision, community correction, specialty Courts and dockets, and reentry services.

Piedmont House, Inc.

The Piedmont House is a halfway house for nonviolent male felons providing shelter, haven, food, other support services and commonsense counseling in a ninety-day program with an emphasis on finding and maintaining employment.

Prison inmates seeking admission to Piedmont House must work through their prison counselors to begin the admission process. Prison counselors will be asked to provide a number of documents to Piedmont House to allow an informed decision as to the suitability of an applicant. Inmates using Piedmont House as part of their home plan must agree in writing to a full ninety-day stay.
